They said, but God says...

““You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”
Matthew 5:14 NLT
You are divinely orchestrated by God, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. We have all been in a place where people have either called you names, belittled you, don't understand you or you saying unkind words to yourself. This is something a lot of Christian's battle with both at work and in their normal lives. The devil uses words to play with our minds, he does not want you to know who you are in Christ because once you know this, he will not have any effect on your life, and you will have undeniable exploits.
Also at work, there are times you doubt yourself, because you do not see yourself the way God sees you. While studying God's word I notice that whenever God speaks to someone, He usually use a different name to call them for example when he sent an angel to Gideon, the angel called him "Thou mighty man of valour"
“And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.”
Judges 6:12 KJV
Also, when Angel Gabriel visited Mary. What did he call her?
“And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.”
Luke 1:28 KJV
God called Abraham the father of Many Nations.
“Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.”
Genesis 17:5 KJV
Let's take a look at this clip from the classical film - The Lion King
When Simba was still young and messing with the hyenas for the first time, his roar could not scare them away but instead, they laughed at him and belittled him but when his dad Mufasa came, they all ran away. That is how some people see you, but little did they know who you truly are.
What you think is a weakness God sees it as your strength.
Jeremiah is a good example:
“Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
Jeremiah felt he had a weakness, but God did not use that to define him.
“Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”
Jeremiah 1:6-7 KJV
God is our greatest Cheerleader. He will always cheer you on no matter what. However, we also need to start thinking in God's way for his thoughts and plans to work in your life. God's word will only work for you if you believe it.
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; But his heart is not with thee.”
Proverbs 23:7 KJV
You were created for a reason and only God knows your end from your beginning:
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”
Psalms 139:13-14 NLT
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
1 Peter 2:9 KJV
With this post, I want to encourage all those who don't feel confident enough to go back to God's word whenever those negative thoughts come.
You can do that job!
You can embark on that project!
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!
Go to work today with the mind of Christ that you are enough and can do it.
Tasha Cobbs song I'm no longer a slave to fear dropped in mind when I was writing this blog post and I hope it touches and blesses you.
Shalom!
